1. What is a cookie?


A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer or mobile device when you first visit one of our web pages.


Smeggy's uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of the website. The cookies that we use enable Smeggy's to recognise when you have given your username and password so that you don't need to do it for every web page that you visit. They also measure how many people use Smeggy's so that we can make it easier to use and ensure there's enough capacity to make the site fast.


The cookies will not collect information that personally identifies you. They will collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use the website. The only information personal to you which is stored in the cookies are your usernmane and encrypted password when as resgistered user you click on the "remember me" button when you login.

2. Cookies used on Smeggy's


Cookies named phpbb3_mvwdz_k, phpbb3_mvwdz_sid, phpbb3_mvwdz_u and style_cookie are used to remember your username and encrypted password if are a registered member and you clicked on "remember me" upon Log In, to give you a session ID which means you dont' have to keep logging bac kin everytime you change pages on the site and html style information(currently unused).


Cookies named _utma, _utmb, _utmc, _utmz are used by Google Analytics to analyse the usage of the website and record the number of visits you make to this site and the time of the first, the previous and the current visit you make, the activity on the site per session and how you were referred to the website. They do not record any personally identifyable informaton.

2. Cookies used on Smeggy's

Smeggy's will not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. However, if you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by Smeggy's, or indeed any other website, you can do this through your browser options. The "Help" function within your browser should tell you how to activate the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies.
