Is the Pepsi challenge about to end for David Beckham?

The global football star is weighing up whether to can his £2million deal with the soft drinks firm - after more than 10 years as the face of the company.

We hear fans could soon be sipping on bottles of Becks. And we don't mean the beer! He wants to launch his own range of - wait for it - water. We reckon he could call it H230, after his famous No. 23 shirt!

Pepsi is desperate to keep Beckham on its books when his contract expires later this year and it is currently in negotiations to persuade him to stay. Certainly the fizz has not gone out of his ties with Pepsi.

Our spy says: "David Beckham has had a fantastic relationship with Pepsi - it's one of the longest running contracts in its history.

"But after 10 years he feels there are other things he could do. He is a global brand in himself and there is more scope for him to promote his own products. He has an idea for creating a range of healthy products, including water. That's something PepsiCo might develop with him.

"David is keen to go down the healthy route to keep in with his sporty image. And Pepsi is desperate to keep him. So who knows..."

Whatever, the news will certainly please the Consumer Association's Which? magazine. Earlier this year, they wrote to Becks moaning about him promoting fizzy drinks after he starred in an advert for Pepsi's social net-working site, pepsiarseniverse.com.

They clearly weren't as impressed as we were seeing him prance around looking gorgeous in the legendary Pepsi ads - we especially loved seeing him in his Gladiator skirt.

But now we might have to make do with gazing at him in his Armani undies. Sigh.

He's been hanging around with peple like Puff Daddy Pee Diddy Poo Duddy too much. And probably wants a couple of private jets biw. The trouble is there are people who would buy water because David Beckham was printed on the container.

I'm thinking of selling a brand of shit called Dovid Bickham. It should be a hit with the partially sighted.

hmmm... reading between the lines, i rather think Pepsi are thinking about launching their own mineral water ( funny, coca cola have already done that) and using the David Beckham name to promote it.

As long as he is only promoting it and not passing it we should be OK.

Water is water is water. This is verging on the ridiculous. He and wife are parodies of walking billboards.
