Since when has Dairy Lea been stringy? It's soft and creamy surely.

A pirate (Caroline) clip by Tony. I was brought up on tapes of this stuff, as my Dad was a big offshore fan

Yes was a great station, basically the start of the push for commercial radio.

I remember in 1989 when the Ross Revenge got raided by the Dutch and British government (I have the recording if anyone's interested). My Dad (the biggest offshore fan ever) was laid under the car fixing it up. He jumped out from under the car as fast as I''d ever seen him move.

When Caroline got taken off the air I'd never seen him that pissed off before.

Got loads of recordings from the eve of the 'marine offences act 1967'. I have Big L and Radio 270 closing down and Radio Caroline carrying on regardless of the law with Johnnie Walker presenting.

The Big L close down is especially good, as it has Loads of well known DJ's and singers/groups all of which you'd recognise today

If anyone's interested I'll start a thread and upload 'em to zShare?
