Brilliant film Sqizz timeless and still frightening.

It's weird cos you still see trucks like that in the States and when they blow their horn/hooter it always reminds me of the film, bloody sinister looking old gal ain't she?

Wasn't that one of Spielberg's early ones? I don't remember the plot, if there was one, but I still remember the truck.

Lots of the trucks out there have a chimney type thing on the side of em by the cab! I think that makes em eerie looking, although some fabulous trucks, actually you always see lots of old tyre bits on the road more so than I've seen over here, from what my mates OH to,d me they are very hot on weight, you see weighting stations everywhere.

I loved the Snake-o-rama bit and the telephone box.

My car has less go than the one in the film, so I know exactly how the salesman felt on the way up the hill twards the end

Heh...

I know exactly how the trucker feels when some arsehole keeps overtaking you then slowing down to a crawl. At times, i feel like ramming the bastards too!

There was until recently, a transport company in Sheffield (Harrisons) that used to use these old Scamell trucks. Always reminded me of the film.

Is truck driver just pissedorf off with him or something more sinister? IE: A message perhaps? Or perhaps he (truck driver) is supposed to be the devil!

Great film Dolls. Spielberg was doing lots of TV work around this time, only a few years later he got to do Jaws :splif:
Directed his first film in 1959 (only born in 1946 :eek4: )

The truck driver was supposed to be just pissed off with 'Weaver' because 'Weaver' overtakes him and then slows down twice in succession (Weavers 'thoughts' deduct this in the film) and the truck driver then begins a game of cat and mouse with Weaver. Throughout the film, you never see the truck drivers face - only his cowboy boots as he walks around the truck in the Gas station early on in the film before the real tension begins.

You may be confusing the 'Devil' thing with another film of the same era and sentiment called 'The Car' (a seriously crap but equally fantastic film) where the 'Car' is a driverless murdering ...erm... Car! that is portrayed as a motorised 'Devil' or 'Demon'.

Very..... CRAP! but also a very entertaining film with an equally sinister looking vehicle.

I think I rather liked the film Christine which had a car which seemed to have a mind of its own. Bit sinister. Long time since I've seen it but thought it quite good for a silly movie. :)

By the way Squizz I didn't get confused with another film ,it was just my personal view that it was more 'sinister' rather than road rage thingy:D:
