Lesser known films that you think are great

Name them.

I've been looking at a list on IMDB called "150 of the best lesser known 1980's movies" and there are some I wouldn't mind watching. A lot are probably only available on VHS so will have to search for downloads.
http://www.imdb.com/list/7xdzgV9lZSc/?ref_=tt_rls_3

Hell Comes to Frogtown. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093171/ Starring Roddy Piper. I've never seen a film with him in it (used to watch him in WWF as a kid) and the plot sounds weird.

The Dirt Bike Kid. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090948/ The title of the film drew me in.

Ghost Warrior. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091110/
A deep-frozen 400-year-old samurai is shipped to Los Angeles, where he comes back to life.
What more do you need from a plot?

Have it on DVD also the sequel which had George Clooney in. It went to black and white halfway through and the actors were saying "oh no the budget has run out". So they start advertising pepsi and dorito's then it goes back to normal. :D
I loved the cartoon as a kid too. :)

VHS? :) Get a DVD player, cheap as chips :splif:

Turk 182 did the video rounds in the 80s and was quite popular.
DARYL is about an android boy, not bad if a little soppy.
Ten til Midnight is fvckin great, very violent in places.
Maximum Overdrive ain't bad, Stephen King story with an AC/DC soundtrack :splif:
Philadelphia Experiment is based on a true story so total Hollywood bollox ensues :) Watchable though :splif:

I'm not a great fan of the 80s as most of you folks know, the arts in general suffered horribly (partially down to Thatcherism, I'm sure) but the one redeeming feature was a lot of great movies were made, The Thing being my favourite. Always worth a watch :splif:

Some great 80s movies (few shite ones too, sorry) http://www.imdb.com/list/VpwD2G7teVI/

Some 90s stuff: http://www.imdb.com/list/XDcSwnEctes/

Love 80's films. :)
Cheers phil. Point being I don't want a VHS and some are probably not available on dvd. :) Hence having to download em. Would love some of those on DVD though. May have to trawl ebay. :D

Heard it's a classic, just never got to watch it, can't beat a good John Carpenter film. :thumb:
What was it that you posted a while back? It was a clip of a 10 to 14 year old kid being hunted by smallish hovering machines in a fortress of some kind. That looked intriguing.

Ah, of course.

Plenty of lesser known horror films that makes the mainsteam sruff they are pumping out of the US look like you should be paid to watch it.
