This is a cracking film by Wes Craven. Character led and quietly offbeat, it's a sort of murder mystery held together with charm. For me it's up there with 'The Artist' :thumb:

Thanks. I've not really thought it would be great, because of so many "stars" in it. Might give it a go though. :)

Wes Anderson, not Craven ... sorry ! Must have typed that in my sleep. You'd be disappointed if you thought it was a Craven offering. This is rather whimsical and funny/sad.
Here's the film info from Rotten Tomatoes THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune -- all against the back-drop ofa suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.
Image Yes, looks like all of Hollywood is there, but acting so well I was thinking ' I'm sure I know them from somewhere, just can't put my finger on it'. The narration is a story within a story within a story, but if I didn't find it confusing, nobody should. Tony Revolori's bug-eyed bewilderment is a joy to watch

Should've been a 10, what do film critics or the public know ? :D

Not enough people have seen the film as yet, and one cannot gauge a programme/film by critics alone.

On a slightly different note I picked up the two DVD box set of I, Clavdivs last week for the princely sum of a pound, and have been watching one episode every night before bedtime.
