Mandy's a decent enough song; I really like it. :o

I've seen the Mail on Sunday's Manilow-fest advertised; I imagine it will be quite popular.

What's with the Manilow-fest?

Tomorrow's Sunday Express is offering a Manilow DVD, but i think you have to send away for it.

The video's a bit mental, but I LOVE this dance version of Mandy. I listen to it quite a bit. *turns it up* :o

Mandy is the only song of his that I really like. It's about a puppy isn't it? I used to think it was a love song. :):

That is the classic Manilow, forget all the ballads that make you want to vomit blood. Copacabana is a wonderful song that tells a story from start to finish. To write that takes skill but to put it to a catchy tune that stays in your head take even more skill.

But he is still a big nosed idiot!

you can get a way with it if you play up the kitsch anti-fashion, thing whimsie. Just wear your sandals at the same time!

So i got the MoS today instead of my usual Sunday Herald.

I must admit i am not familiar with Manilow songs. They are ok but won't be on my Zen.

I was so tempted, actually - and added to that I couldn't find a Herald....but, I just thought don't be daft, you will never, ever listen to this CD!

So I didn't.

I'll admit I liked Mandy when I was younger, Could It Be Magic is a pretty decent song and Weekend In New England is hard to dislike just because it's a bit cheesy.

As for what's cool, you can't live by those rules. Music trends are full of shit, some of the lamest, crappiest bands/acts are fashionable these days because marketing and the media has such a huge say on what people's opinions should be.

Foo foo. Let's all foo foo.

Barry Manilow actually died a few years ago. His animatronic latex droid is still performing .....

I loved his songs when I was a kid. They are still great songs. I do think he as aged ungracefully though. He looked terrible when he was on X-factor, his face lift looked far too stretched

I've had enough Barry Manilow really. A girl i was at school with used to play his tape almost every day in the Art Dept, where we spent most of our time ( it was 6th year and we were preparing our portfolios) .

Sometimes she played happy clappy christian stuff too.

And I'd say - oh, please put Barry back on! ( she refused to let me play T-Rex... :( )
