I had to install itunes on my PC recently, I think it was something to do with getting an Apple identity to use with my Apple TV boxes.

Bloody pop-ups kept appearing about new versions and their new music service, so I decided to get rid of this malware. Not as easy as you may think - like lots of shitty software it doesn't want you to uninstall it. So it either hung for 20 minutes or said I had to stop some process - which wasn't actually there ! Running removals in safe mode didn't work either.

Eventually ran Revo Uninstaller which, after a while, got rid of the stuff.
