I'd liove the weather. It's the seclusion I'm not so sure about. supply ship only every 6 months.

Yeah, you'd be pretty screwed if you were taken seriously ill.

Scott Nelson wrote:Not necessarily! Smeggy would do what a lot of British ex-pats do when taken ill: return to the UK, receive free NHS treatment then bugger off abroad again once fully recovered.

People complain about foreigners using the NHS when British ex-pats are equally as bad.

Well yes, but it'd he had to wait 6 months for the ship even the NHS night not be able to revive him :eek4:

As a British citizen I would be entitled to NHS treatment wherever I lived in the world. And rightly so, I've paid my insurance premiums all my life. There's nothing "bad" about claiming on insurance you've paid into. Your comparison with "foreigners using the NHS" is bollocks.

Yup that sort of thing is an important issue.

It's close to paradise. Unfortunately, not close to the amenities you'd require. You couldn't swim it either, lots of nippy little creatures out there

I think I'd like something similar but closer to civilisation.

Not a chance, even though it is beautiful.

'Paradise' contains many things....99% of them are not on that fucking island. Those white sands, blue skies and palm trees would wear thin after a few weeks without the trappings of civilisation.
