Glad to hear you had a good time... even with the mishaps! :D

I've been back 5 weeks... or is it 6?! :chin: I still have the post holiday blues. :(
I had a fantastic time and constantly wish I was back there!

I could tell you a story of another 'holiday' but think it probably best if I don't. It involved 3 adults, 5 kids, a 5 berth caravan and head lice!! :eek4:

OMG
Sounds bloody orrible! :(

eek! the worst one I rememeber is 5 adults, eight kids ( no dogs or lice I dont think), it rained for a week, the kids all fought with each other in such a small space , and as it became apparent during the week so did some of the adults, infact it triggered a divorce.

So yes, the key is good company, dry weather and lots of red wine!

The first and last are all planned for! ;)

The one in the middle is a bit of a gamble, but we're only going for a few days so we'll just have to cope!

Oh dear!!!!!!

That brings back memories, our first experience under canvas was in a small poky little tent, it rained all week until we had had enough, we returned home and spent the second week traveling back to the seaside every day in glorious sunshine.

However we were did continue camping for a number of years eventually making it to France a few times :yippee:

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever

I need to get a job before I can book anything. My current plan is to book to go back over for New Year... on my own! October is tempting, but I don't think practical.

If I don't get a job... I'm thinking about selling up and going over there to try my luck at a new life.

wow! thats a big move.

but it can be done - loads do. infact I know people who went to Majorca a good few years back. He is a musician, and they went over and just got on with it, not speaking a word of the language and with a young child. They are still there, and loving it.

Im really envious of people who have the get up and go to change things like that. If I had that courage, I wouldnt be here, I'd have my caravans up in the west highlands somewhere by now, and selling paintings to the tourists.

I'm not sure if I do have the courage...

and maybe I'm following some kind of pipe dream in my head that in reality doesn't exist.

Time will tell... ;)

Whereabouts in Gran Canaria did you go Caz? I've never been. but thinking of going early next year, possibly March or April :chin: My parents used to go there before they retired, they used to stay in Playa Taurito and absolutely loved it. Mind you, they always stayed in 5 star places (my mum never slums it!) whereas we'd probably rent a villa/apartment.

We haven't had a holiday so far this year (couldn't afford it :( ) but we're all really itching to go somewhere warm!

I was in Puerto Rico. Taurito looks nice but I think too quiet for me.

If you get to thinking about booking give me a shout. I've been quite a few times so might be able to help out with suggestions of places to stay depending on what you're looking for. :thumb:

Ooh Caz, I'm spotting an opening for you here - as some sort of specialist agent organising holidays for brits. Of course, to be a total expert, you would have to live there and really learn your stuff! :thumb:

Some lovely ideas there. :D

Not had a holiday in five/six years.
I'd like to take my little girl to Disneyland next year if my luck picks up, but the desired alternative destination is Kefalonia.
