No it's not totally a crock. electromagnetic radiation isn't good for you. Phil you may remember the swedish guy on the cubase forums who was electrosensitive. Can't remember his name now.

A computer mouse is guilty of frequent pain in the wrist of office workers who spend long hours at the computer.

I got severe RSI years ago from mouse use, and have to use a vertical mouse now

Staring at a computer monitor for hours, you may be compromising your vision. A scientific study showed that at least 20% of people who regularly use a computer often have headaches and a half of them have eye issues, and 25% cannot focus their eyes on one point. Regular breaks at work can help prevent it.

I can vouch for this as well

The fans of decibels must be reminded that any noise above 85 decibels leads to irreversible hearing damage. An alarming symptom is ringing in the ears after listening to music.

This is a bit of a stretch though

I think the sound level thing is a bit exaggerated - to be on the 'safe side'.

THX Certified Receivers reproduce studio Reference Level, 85dB SPL with 20dB of headroom, to reproduce the ideal cinema levels, so probably peak some way over that quite often.

I never listen as loud as that though, it is just too fuggin loud for me. :)

Plenty of people go to rock concerts and are deaf the next day - but they tend to recover.

Yeah, I remember Par. He was in a commune type set up where all the radio-sensitive peeps had to shield themselves from all manner of things. Hope he's well :splif:

Maybe so, but only from the deafness. I've got quite a large frontage on my house for suburbia, never the less , the foundations of my property frequently quaver from some wannabe noticed driving by in their mini with enough volume of music to accommodate 100,000 Carnegie Hall rock fans blasting out from their megaphone Wog Box.

Fuck knows what debilitating effect it must have on their hearing, although its probably a case of where there's no sense, there's no feeling. I mean, it wouldn't be so offensive if they occasionally played a bit of Mantovani, not to mention the benefit to my property's 80 yr. old footings. :D
