Just started reading this book by Bill Bryson my goodness its not often a writer make me laugh out loud ....he gets me every time ...if you feel down and want cheering up I really recommend this book .....its a view of the UK through the eyes of an American lad on his first visit ... :rofl: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

He is a brilliant writer,he makes me laugh out loud as well. Take a look at some of his other books like notes from a big island which is all about America and Americans. So observational.!!!

So, without spoilers, does he find anyone over here

1)laughing with him at his Sesame Show take on the letter Z(ee),
2)correcting his Quayle spelling of root vegetables, or
3)does he grow up quickly ?

he conformed and still lives here ...he has become one of us !!!! :D he even married a Brit ... :thumb:
but his stories of his youth in the US (I think its called the Thunderpants kid) is also just as funny

its the characters he talks about that he meets ....we all know them !

That would be the Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid.


Thunderpants was a film that had Stephen Fry stand in for a real actor owing to the script.
