Jean Plaidy came up in another thread, and I've just found her books have been re-issued ...

Jean Plaidy, one of the preeminent authors of historical fiction for most of the twentieth century, is the pen name of the prolific English author Eleanor Hibbert, also know as Victoria Holt. Jean Plaidy's novels had sold more than 14 million copies worldwide by the time of her death in 1993.


The books are published by Arrow ( Random House)

They are being slowly reissued. The Plantagenet series is now up to "Follies of the King" which was one of the titles that was very hard to find second-hand while they were out of print.

Oh, in the Tudor series, they've changed the title "Gay Lord Robert" to just "Lord Robert" :rolleyes:

I like the original hardback covers published by Hale. I remember borrowing them from the local library and they were really nice.

T'was me who brought up Jean Plaidy in the other thread :yippee: That top left piccy of Murder Most Royal is the exact cover on my old paperback Whirlie :yippee:

They're great books Whirlie, but my JP phase is over now. I gave all the books to a woman who loved Jean's writing, years ago.

I'll always have fond memories of seeing another world in her historical novels though :)
