Funnier than Love Thy Neighbour, which was a pale imitator and repetitve, totally un PC, featuring the best love/ hate sitcom character ever Alf Garnett, and ironically written by a left- winger with two of the main cast members socialists as well( Warren Mitchell was not the same as Alf Garnett in real life), Till Death remains the most controversial and greatest sitcom ever written and about as subtle as a brick in the face. Alf's monlogues and catchprhases like silly moo and randy Scouse git still stick in the memory 40 years ago.

I always found this programme funny - the stereotyping was so outrageous, you had to laugh.

And Dandy Nichols - bless her - with her " and 'er" interjections...Bloody scream.

I've seen Warren Mitchell do Alf live. He ended the show with a warning along the lines of asking the audience to think, otherwise they would end up like the Garnett character. Not sure if a lot of the audiance got the message.

Loved the Christmas special clip where Alf is convinced Jesus is English and the old catchprhases come out like silly bloody moo.
