Another no here. Two of my sisters do though, and I think it's because neighbours don't chat over the fence any more - the soaps have replaced village gossip.

No, not watched any soap for decades, last one I gave up was Corrie - they started putting out too many episodes per week. Though somebody must watch 'em.

Even mother doesn't bother with them anymore. Maybe she only ever watched them to annoy dad. ;)

I watch Eastenders, but I'm not fussed if I do miss it. I've started getting into Emmerdale too - it's the mother in laws fault!

I don't watch soaps and never did apart from Brookside when I was younger. I agree with Debs that they perform a function in these days of social isolationism. My aunt watches them all, I think.

That is exactly when I stopped watching EE, though Alfie was great. I watch a couple of shows that have only recently begun to be called 'soaps', Holby City (because they sometimes talk about my condition) and I have just started to watch The Bill again. They are apparently in the soap section of awards these days

I used to be really into them in the 1980s. I was well into Neighbours

I used to religiously watch Correi and Emmerdale, but these days I'm not really bothered. I still watch Corrie now and again but Ememrdale has got really bad over the last couple of years.

I'm embarrased to admit I got my dad to tape every episide for 3 weeks while I went to work in abroad one time during the 1980s

Although I realised what a bunch of moralistic hygenically sealed politically correct crap it really is a long tiem ago. :)

I used to watch all the soaps.

Emmerdale,Corrie,Eastenders, but now, they just get on me tits.

Corrie is OK,but the recent storyline with loony Becky and Steve is ridiculous.

A lot of people have given up on them as the plots are repetitive and the acting is often terrible. I can't see why they have to be repeated so much and why Neighbours is still on as no one seems to watch it.

I don't watch em anymore.
I used to watch 'neighbours' on youtube, then they cut it of due to copyright.
I cant watch it on tv cos I'm not home when its on.
Demand five is a pile of crap, it never works on my computer anymore.
So they've lost me now and I was a big fan. :(
